This week’s #FridayFavourites is dedicated to one brand, and it’s a surprising one (for me atleast)

My obsession with Fendi really began after their F/W 18 ready to wear runway. Now I know I normally don’t share a lot of content about luxury brands, but my inspiration for my personal wardrobe comes from these runways. And well if I can be really honest I wouldn’t mind owning a few items too.

There was something about this runway that just hit all the right notes. From the plaid minis paired with matching knee high boots, to the luxe coats covered in the brand's monogram, it was like all of my fashion personalities could find something. The preppy elegant girl would love those classic coats paired with leather boots and matching bag, and then there’s the menswear girl whose dying over the high waisted trousers and blouses with dramatic sleeves. And finally, the trend that everyone has been talking about; Logos.

Logo mania is real and I tried not to like it, but I really love it when it’s done right!

Paired with classic looks, a logo sweater or shirt would bring a modern edge to it all. At one point I would probably stay away from anything with a big logo across the front. I’m getting these awful images in my mind thinking back to the early 2000’s when people would walk around with Von Dutch across their shirt or hat… and let’s not forget those sweatpants with ‘juicy’ written across your butt (raise your hand if you fell for THAT trend).

Well, Logos are back and I must say we have really improved ourselves and had a glow up since 2005. Fendi is one of the many luxury brands to jump on the logo train but they’re not just doing it with their name on a white tee. There are your full brand name logos embroidered onto luxe sweaters, which Fendi styled taking inspiration from a school girl. Imagine if Blair Waldorf and Cher from clueless had a wardrobe baby… Fendi has created that!

Like in this photo above, by pairing that sweater with an oversized boxy blazer or coat, mini skirt, and boots and you have your modern and hot off the trending page look!

Now Fendi took it one step further with their classic monogram. Covering mix textured sweaters, coats, purses, and even knee high boots, the monogram can be found everywhere! What makes this look modern and on trend, is when the look is head to toe monochromatic which you can see in one of the looks which is in brown and earth tones. The mixed textures in the sweater and bags gives this look multiple dimensions.

Another example would be this classic coat with voluminous shoulders and monogram found throughout. Again, what makes this modern and not your 2005 Juicy tracksuit is the monochromatic navy with mixed textured of wool, leather, and satin in the scarf. It’s elevated, elegant, yet fun and youthful!

Now it wouldn’t be one of my blog posts if I didn’t give you something to shop! If you’re looking to recreate this look because, like me, there’s zero chance of you purchasing anything from the Fendi runway, then you’re in luck! Now before I even get to my version, I have som advice if you’re out shopping.

To get the look correctly there are a few key tips you need to follow:

  • To make the logos look expensive, you need to pair it with more classic pieces like a blazer & trouser.
  • If you’re going for a bold brand name logo, keep it to one item that can be layered under other pieces.
  • If you want to add monogrammed pieces, keep your colour palette monochromatic and within the same tones.
  • Accessories are what will elevate the entire look!

Still Confused?

How about you shop this look!

How do you feel about the logo trend? Are we feeling it, or are you still trying to recover from the early years of wearing logos! Let me know in the comments below xx
