My everyday makeup routine that will take no longer than 10 minutes!

Last week, I posted my first ever video content on IGTV! As exciting as it was filming it, I had those same nervous feelings like when I shared my first blog post. The purpose of the video was to be a super short step by step guide of my everyday makeup. That with a few steps you could achieve a makeup look that was fresh, and leaves your skin looking radiant without spending your whole morning in front of the mirror.

Now in the last few months I’ve become more and more natural with my everyday makeup. No longer am I wearing thick layers of foundation and heavy powders, or trying to do a smokey eye for daytime. Instead, I’m sticking to a few products to achieve this look that I'm sharing with you today!

I don’t know about you, but when it comes to the summer months, I really try to use as little product on my face as possible. I find with that with the heat and inevitable sweating that:

1. Too much product is just going to lead to a cakey mess.
2. My skin will break out more from the excess oils and products.

Instead, I’m really focused on treating my bare face well with a skincare routine that I am still in the process of perfecting, but to also not worry about wearing too much makeup. I’ve written in past blog posts (that I’ll link below) about how I’ve grown more comfortable in my bare face and going out with no makeup on and I still feel that way, there are just too many amazing products out there that I can’t help but play with.

I mean highlighters, glossy lips, and natural brows are all trending right now, and I’m here for it!!

Give me those three products and some concealer and this girl is set for her day.

The routine I’m going to share with you all is only a few more steps, but it will leave you looking effortless this summer.

You can find the tutorial on my Instagram page. Make sure you're following me as I plan to post more video content in the future!

The Look

Let’s put away the eyeshadow palettes and those contouring kits, and let’s get back to basics! I love a good shimmery eyeshadow, but for everyday, I really just want to feel my best without spending a lot of time getting ready.

There are days when I love to sit in front of my mirror and take my time doing my makeup. Personally, I find the process can be extremely therapeutic, but when I want to just get started with my day, I really need something simple.

For me, my best makeup days are the ones where my skin looks flawless. The base is where it matters most!

Putting your best Skin Forward

Creating a flawless base is going to be different for everyone (as everyone’s skin is different), but for me I really only need these few products:

Primer

Colour Corrector
2 Concealers

For everyday light weight makeup, I don’t worry about choosing a pore filling or heavy primer. Instead, I use one that also acts as a moisturizer. That way I feel like the makeup blends into my skin perfectly and doesn’t just sit on top of those heavy duty primers that I would use for a dance competition or a special event where I know I need heavy makeup to last me for hours and look as perfect as it did when I first applied it.

Right now, I’m really enjoying Hard Candy’s moisturizing primer that uses coconut water. I still feel like I’m giving my makeup the best base to work with, without having to sacrifice my skin. Even on the hottest days, my skin just feels hydrated without any build up of oil.

The next biggest change in my makeup routine is not using foundation. Unless for special occasions, I rarely use foundation. Now with a natural tan, I don’t feel like I need to cover up or try to give my skin some life. Instead, I use a concealer that is a perfect match for my current skin tone and place it in strategic places all over my face.

From there, I use a lighter concealer to highlight under my eyes and in specific spots.

Finishing Touches

As for powders, I only use a bronzer, blush, and of course highlight! Since purchasing the travel size, I am seriously obsessed with the Hoola Bronzer and will definitely buy the full size in the future! It’s the perfect bronzer right now because it gives just enough warmth without being orange. I like to apply it everywhere on my face where the sun would naturally hit - to give my skin the appearance of being sunkissed.

As for blush, I like wearing warmer pink tones during the summer as it blends beautifully with the bronzer to amp up the warmth on my face while still giving my cheeks the flush of colour!

Finally highlighter, now this is key. I could honestly use the Fenty highlighter all over my face it’s that good. In my beauty favourites post, I described the Fenty highlighter as being a peachy gold tone and wow wow wow!!!

My skin just radiates when I use this product. I love it. I’m obsessed.

Finish the look off with my favourite mascara and a pink gloss and the look is complete.

  1. Not using foundation everyday is so good... you'll need it less too since your pores won't be as clogged!
